hello, I'm Lauren...
I spent 20 years working with babies in hospitals — and then they started “talking” to me…
...before the babies started talking...
I'd always wanted to be a nurse...
I had always loved babies.
As a child, I was slightly obsessed with other people’s babies (including my younger siblings), so it wasn’t really a surprise when I eventually found my way into neonatal nursing.
For 20 years, I worked as a Registered Nurse, spending most of that time in neonatal intensive care, caring for premature and critically ill babies and supporting their families through some of the most vulnerable and uncertain experiences of their lives.
This world was practical and clinical.
Monitors. Blood tests. Machines. Medications. Research.
We worked with the information we could see and measure to guide the care of each baby.
And for a long time, that was simply how I knew babies.
...and then things got...a little less scientific...
I experienced something medicine couldn’t explain

In 2011, while travelling in Africa, I had a near-death experience in the Zambezi River.
For a short time, my experience of myself seemed to split. Part of me was still in the water, while another part was somewhere above it, observing what was happening from a completely different perspective.
At the time, I thought I’d had some kind of panic attack (cue my clinical nursing brain!).
But the experience stayed with me. Over the years that followed, yoga, meditation, Buddhism and energy healing became part of my exploration of consciousness, energy and what might exist beyond what we can physically see.
I was still a nurse. I was still working in hospitals. And I certainly wasn’t planning to turn any of this into a career.
Then, back in neonatal intensive care, the line between those two worlds began to blur.

And then the babies started talking
It began quietly.
While caring for a baby during a night shift in NICU, I started perceiving information that wasn't coming from a monitor, blood test or anything else I could physically observe.
So naturally, Nurse Lauren just ignored it!
But it kept happening...
Over time, I began to recognise that I was connecting with the babies I cared for in a completely different way — receiving images, feelings, words and information that offered another perspective on who they were and what they were experiencing.
There were other experiences too. I had three shared-death experiences with babies I was caring for, where it felt like the curtain between the physical and spiritual worlds was briefly pulled back. It was like I had a foot in both worlds — experiencing another layer of what was happening as a baby died and their soul left their physical body.
None of this replaced what I knew as a nurse.
It simply showed me there was more to these babies than what I could see and measure.
where it all comes together...
Today, my two worlds aren't so separate
I no longer see the practical world of medicine and the intuitive world of energy and soul as opposites. They can offer different ways of looking at the same situation.
My years in nursing taught me to observe, ask questions, stay curious and work with the information available — while recognising that we don’t always have all the answers.
I approach baby soul communication with that same curiosity: listening to what your baby or child has to share and exploring what it might mean within the bigger picture of your motherhood journey.
But the soul perspective doesn’t cancel out the human one.
Grief can still hurt, even when there may be further insight about a loss. Fertility treatment can still be necessary, even when we’re exploring conception at an energetic level. A child can have their own soul journey while still needing very real support here on Earth.
There can be more than one truth — and more than one perspective — present at the same time.
That’s the space I work in.
at the heart of Born Energy…
What I believe about babies, souls + motherhood
Your baby is a soul in their own right
No-one has all of the answers
Your connection belongs to you
You don’t need me to be the only person who can communicate with your baby or child. You have your own intuitive connection with them — even if you don’t recognise or trust it yet.
Your baby or child isn’t simply part of your story. They have their own soul journey, experiences, relationships and perspective — just as you have yours.
Not me. Not you. Not your baby. We each have our own perspective and I believe in staying curious rather than trying to turn intuitive information into absolute truth.
Every soul has a voice. And sometimes, hearing another perspective can help you understand a little more of your own.
